There’s something comforting about making an effort to go to a music bowl when you do have time to sit and enjoy music. It’s hard to find music for every occasion and it’s even harder when you don’t have any music at all. As you get older the days get shorter and you have more music to listen to. The music bowl is one of those places where you hear music in a way that you cant normally expect. As an artist, you don’t usually hear your music in this kind of setting (until a certain age, at which point you start hearing it as an excuse to go to the music bowl). There’s plenty of music to choose from, but it always seems to have a certain feel to it. For us, it was all about the blues.
The first time we went to Westville, we had never heard of the Westville Music Bowl, and were unsure of where to go, so we went on a whim. When we arrived, we were immediately greeted by a sign that said, ‘Welcome to the Westville Music Bowl’. It was a small sign, so we didn’t know what to expect, but we were very impressed by the fact that we were greeted by a sign at all.
It was a beautiful outdoor space in the middle of a park. The music bowl sits on one of the main streets of the town, and is basically a big concrete stage that holds about 10,000 people. It is a perfect place for blues and rock shows (especially because blues and rock are the two genres with the loudest noise). The bowl was built in the early 2000s, so it’s very old-school.
It was a cool way to celebrate our favorite band westville, and it was also very entertaining to see how the crowd reacted to the bands playing their first set. We’ve seen a lot of people show up in hopes of seeing a band but we’ve never seen them so enthusiastic before.
There has been a lot of talk about the new music bowl. There is one called “A Dream Of The New Music Bowl” by the band’s website. There are many new music bowls in the U.S.A., but they have been cancelled after a few months. I’m so glad I did. I’ve enjoyed the new music bowl in my time.

I’m not sure that the music bowl, A Dream of the New Music Bowl, is the best place to catch live music. That’s because it’s located in a beautiful spot in Westville, where Westville is home to some of the best music venues in the Southeast. But overall, the event is a great addition to the music scene in Fresno.
