Check out the 100+ colleges that are easiest to get into. As long as you do the following, you’ll be able to enjoy the occasional party and get an exceptional education. Beyond the realms of fiction, sororities are often about educating their members about the safety measures for such events, with most following alcohol ap macro score calc policies that govern the rules of consumption. My W144 course was probably one of the best experiences of my entire life so far. I can’t really explain what I felt during my first outdoor climbs that weekend. I remember looking at my first route and saying, “Ummm, where are the holds?” And our IUOA guide just laughed.
How does IFC know if like you said, there is hard alcohol in the party room? Between the still endless Instagrams of them in front of the house and the whispered rumors of them wanting to take a “new pledge class” it feels like we are never going to stop hearing about it. As the two established “Jewish houses” on campus, the competition is definitely tight. You would think being a bunch of yentas looking for something to gossip over they could find something to bond over. What you may not realize though is that most of the people around you are probably thinking the same thing.
Delta Delta Delta (“Tri-Delts”) has a national reputation that was lampooned in a 1980s episode of Saturday Night Live (“Delta Delta Delta, can I helpya helpya helpya?”). Some consider them the quintessential sorority, in both a good and a bad way. Depending upon the campus, Tri-Delts are either regarded as lower-end top-tier, or higher-end mid-tier. The fact that many Tri-Delts consider themselves top-tier might explain some of the resentment they get from other sororities. Fraternity and sorority houses are typically owned either by a corporation of alumni, the sponsoring national organization, or the host college.
New college students must weigh their options and choose the best sorority that reflects their values and beliefs. Recruitment events are often common around the campus, with each sorority advancing its activities, scholarships, and philanthropy. After coming to IU from a very small high school (I’m talking 300 kids tops) I knew I wanted to come to a big university. However, once I got here I quickly realized that it’s pretty difficult to meet people and you rarely ever pass people that you know when you’re walking through campus.
Not only did I luck out with an amazing suitemate, but I also quickly learned that I was placed on a floor of fun-loving and diverse individuals. We are all so different in our own ways, but I have learned more from them than they probably even realize. I strongly encourage all high school seniors with good academic records and community involvement to apply. In the heat of the application season, it may not seem worth it to complete a few extra essays and forms or get letters of recommendation, especially if IU may not be your first choice. And all because of the vision and caring of a couple who I unfortunately never got the chance to meet, Jesse and Beulah Cox.
Looks can come and go, boyfriends change but sisterhood is a lifetime. How dare you pass judgement or share your lame impressions. I would venture to say your fraternity life was short and you are disparately trying to relive your college life.
