Freed of the obligation to check in with Andy, the series becomes a gleefully ridiculous horror comedy.

Seed of Chucky is the most overtly comedic movie in the franchise, sometimes sacrificing horror for the sake of vulgar humor. But Chucky and Tiffany’s weirdo child Glen is a welcome addition, and the Hollywood-set story offers plenty of opportunities for self-deprecating humor. Director Tom Holland takes his time bringing out Chucky in the doll’s first film, instead focusing on little Andy Barclay and his single mother Karen . Possessed by the spirit of a serial killer, Chucky looks like a harmless Good Guys doll at first, but he eventually reveals his true murderous nature. He’s less snarky and playful in this early outing, instead focused on isolating Andy so that he can transfer his soul into a human body.

Jake and his friends, Devon and Lexy, who have been Chucky’s targets from the beginning seem to be still haunted and hunted by the killer doll. However, the trio has now been sent off to a catholic reformatory school, to get all straight and narrow, but that doesn’t seem to stop Chucky from making their life a living hell. The second season will also most likely explore the budding relationship between Jake and Devon. On the other end of things, there’s Andy, Chucky’s original owner and arch nemesis, who was captured by the Tiffany doll, Chucky’s lover.

Brad Dourif reprised the titular role and does so yet again in the series return. You seriously won’t want to miss it, so here’s where to watch Chucky season 2. Syfy have not announced an exact number of episodes for Season 2 but given the first ran for 8 episodes, it’s not outside the realm of possibility to think the same will be the case here.
